Good News Stories!

Pastoral Care - Our international Ministry

10 July

This week we had requests to find support for a couple in Portland (Oregon USA) and in Auckland.    God is good.   A visitor arrived at Church on Sunday - and said "That is why I had to come here this morning - I know a good church in Portland!".    We also have a contact who lives an hour from there who is a friend of one of our people.

The guy in Auckland will be folded into an online small table.     There are some reasons we should look after him oursleves.

Discipleship - New "Small Tables" started

9 July

Another three people are meeting to stay accountable to their journey with Jesus.   If you are keen to know how small tables work - Click here.

We also set up a new Bible reading couplet this week, and one guy decided to follow Jesus.    We introduced him to Lectio a couple of weeks ago - and he loves it.   That's what led to his decision.

Community Liaison   Food Buckets in use

28 June

The Rapid Response Team from the Bretheren Church provide amazing buckets of food.  Each one has food for a family of four for two days.     1C1H contacted us to see if we could help Night Ninjas - who do great local work with homeless people.     We could,   we did.   People were supported through one of those rough patches.    Thanks to the Op Shop for establishing the relationship with Rapid Response Team and getting the buckets organised.

1C1H  Council coming along with a great idea.    (Thanks Tracey)

10 July

The Redland Council has heard that we have frequent offers from people that would like to donate whole houses of furniture to the Op Shop - and to other churches in 1C1H.   The problem is storage.  Where can we keep that sort of gear until we need it?  We have been asked to start a conversation with Council to see how this need can be met.    Pray we find a coordinator for this opportunity, and that we can make it happen.

1C1H Found a bed!

5/July

Horowai - the accomodation Legend at Footprints Community called looking for a single bed for a lady who had finally found a bed sit after a DV situation erupted.   We put the word out to the 1C1H network and within a few hours a bed was found.

1C1H  We're famous in Melbourne!!!!!  -  Activities for Disabled

5/July

Personalised Support Services contacted us to find out what disability activities were available in the Redlands as they have potential clients here. When a search was made of their website it was found to be a Dandenong agency. So how they found us is only known to them and God. But we were able to direct them to 2 Agencies in the local area. Pretty cool.
