We anticipate that personal matters will be discussed as you talk to people from our Pastoral Care area. Because of that, we want you to know what happens to the things you say. What you discuss in each meeting is confidential. That means that nothing you say will be reported outside the formal Pastoral Care program of the church.
All of our recognised Pastoral Care people have a supervisor who coaches them to build their skills and debrief as necessary. Your Pastoral Care people may disclose things to their supervisor for those purposes. In turn the supervisor reports to church staff and it is possible that something you have said may be reported there as well.
File notes are normally not kept, but in the rare event that they are, they will be encrypted and stored on our cloud server.
Please note that chatting to people at a service is an interpersonal thing and the church can’t make any promises about who you might be talking to or what will happen to anything you share. The same applies should you provide your contact details to another worshipper.
Your personal information is encrypted and stored on a cloud server. It will not be shared with anyone, or used for any purpose outside the Churches programs, except when statutory requirements dictate otherwise. It normally only includes brief biographical information and contact details. If you are part of a ministry team that will be listed as well to facilitate rosters being distributed electronically. When you register for the newsletter, your details will be added to the data base as well.
Critical to the success of all church relationships is a sense of safety. To keep everyone safe, Churches of Christ Qld, participates in a mandatory reporting regime. When we believe harm is likely toward anyone, (people around you, or you yourself) we will report it to the appropriate authority. We do not have discretion in this matter.
We have a rigorous process in place to reduce the risk of harm to our kids. Please ask for more information if this is of interest or concern to you.
