A Biblical Rythym

40 is a number that relates to seeking God, repentance, revelation, changing identity etc. We will spend 40 days in disciplined reflection and training for the spiritual life.

On Mondays through Saturdays, for six weeks we will follow a pattern of prayer, abstinence and reflection/fellowship to build ourselves up, and learn more about cooperating with the grace God gives us.

We will also enter into the biblical narrative by celebrating Sunday more intentionally.   Since the resurrection, Christians chose to meet on Sunday – the day everything changed.   Some keep all sorts of other holy days, but this is our “little Easter” – a feast day to the Lord.   Attend Communion, worship with vigour, spend time with the saints and have a day to enjoy.

On Sunday – relax all disciplines, and “feast” in honour of the goodness of God and the resurrection of Jesus.
